Bump Sled Prototype by Slide Fire Solutions
There’s so much at SHOT Show, it’s impossible to see everything. But, now and then, a stand-out product catches your eye. That’s how I noticed Slide Fire’s new prototype. The design is so new that it hasn’t yet received a formal name, but, for now, they’ve dubbed it the “Bump Sled.” The idea behind this prototype is to apply the bumpfiring technology Slide Fire already employs with their bumpfire stocks and make it accessible to more shooters, namely, the disabled. Instead of replacing the stock with a Slide Fire product, the “Bump Sled” holds a rifle upside-down, and utilizes a trigger plate connected to the sled that can be controlled with one’s thumbs. It still utilizes recoiling force to facilitate faster trigger pulls, so even though the rig looks like it fell off a war movie prop truck, it’s fully functional—and non-NFA. Although I didn’t have the fun of firing the system myself, I did witness a woman fire it from her remarkable all-terrain wheel chair.
